Starting School – Reception Places

As a Voluntary Controlled school, our admissions criteria are set by the local authority.  Our schools admissions and oversubscription criteria information can be found from the KCC admissions guidance on this link.

Trottiscliffe Church of England Primary School has 12 places in Reception for new admissions (our Published Admission Number). These places will be allocated by Kent County Council in accordance with the following criteria (in order of priority):

  1. Children in Local Authority Care

  2. Current Family Associations (siblings)

  3. Health and Special Access reasons

  4. Nearness of children’s homes to school

We hold several events prior to September for both children and parents to familiarise themselves with their new teachers and school.

KCC encourages parents to apply online. Online applications for the school year, which starts in September, usually open November of the previous year and close in January.  Please refer to the KCC website for specific dates.  To request a paper application, please contact Kent County Council on 01622 696565.

Moving Schools – In year admissions

If you are looking to transfer your child from another primary school, please complete an in year admissions form and submit this directly. Trottiscliffe CE Primary School, along with Kent County Council, will apply the same standard admissions criteria for in year applications. Please note we are oversubscribed in several year groups and waiting lists may be in place for some year groups.
