Sports Premium Funding
PE and Sports Premium
What is PE and Sports Premium?
Aimed at continuing the legacy of the 2012 London Olympics, the government has chosen to invest in Primary School Physical Education and School Sport. They have done this by offering each primary school an allocation of money to be spent in any way the school thinks best to improve the teaching and learning of PE and School Sport in their individual school. In October 2017, this amount was increased to £16,000, plus £10 per pupil in years 1-6 in each school.
This year we shall receive £16,690 for Sports Funding.
How we are using Sports Funding at our school?
At Trottiscliffe CEP School, we have used the funding to ensure that children have the most qualified teachers and instructors during their P.E. lessons. This has included buying in sustainable training and support for teachers. Some of the funding has been used to increase our participation in local competitions and tournaments and increase our offer of extra curricular opportunities. In addition to this, the school has previously purchased and runs a minibus to transport pupils to sporting events to ensure all children are able to participate.
