Information about school lunches

Our pupils have a choice of a cooked school lunch or a packed lunch provided from home each day.  All children in Reception and Years 1 and 2 are entitled to a free meal each day.

Our cooked lunches are provided by Caterlink and are cooked at Palace Wood Primary School and delivered to Trottiscliffe each day.

For children in Years 3-6, they can also choose to have a cooked meal and you will need to pay £3.15 per day in advance via the Caterlink online payment system.  If you would like your child to have a cooked meal, please visit the Caterlink website at

www.caterlinkltd.co.uk to find out more.

With regard to payment for school meals, Caterlink operate a cashless system therefore could we please ask that you to pay as follows:

  • Via https://meals.caterlinkltd.co.uk/meals/sign_in You are able to top up your account whenever is convenient and will be able to track via this system when another top up is needed.
  • We do understand that there could be occasions when a school meal is required on the day or at very short notice. Should this be the case, if you cannot pay online please send your child into school with the appropriate payment (£3.15) in a clearly named and sealed envelope and ask him/her to take it to the school office. Please note: Caterlink insist that all lunches are paid for in advance or on the day at the latest (cheques are not accepted).
  • Some families are entitled to free school meals and we can help to arrange this for you.  If you feel you may be entitled to this support, please do not hesitate to speak in confidence to our office staff.

Should you have any queries whatsoever concerning the above, please contact the school office.
