Yesterday, four of our Year 6 pupils represented the school at the annual Mayor’s Debate which invites teams of Year 6 from all schools across the Tonbridge & Malling borough to take part in three formal debates within the council chambers, chaired by the Mayor, Cllr Chris Brown.

 This year the debate topics were:

1. Should we have Grammar Schools and the 11+ Test?  Following the debate, they children voted as follows: Yes-39  No – 8    Abstained - 2
2. Should parents be allowed to take children on holiday during term time? Yes – 37   No – 12
3. Should all primary school children wear school uniform? Yes – 27   No – 17  Abstained – 5

Toby, Bella, Sophia and Jackson were excellent ambassadors for the school, they made thoughtful contributions to the debates and particularly enjoyed using the microphones during the debates.
