Sponsored Mount Kilimanjaro Climb
Fri 29 Apr 2022The forecast for next week looks to be dry so the school is going to climb the mountain without even leaving Trottiscliffe!
The plan is that every child will complete a short lap of a part of the country park which includes a steep incline (as anyone who has visited the country park will be familiar with). Older children will complete more than one lap and between all the children of the school, they will have collectively travelled the distance of the height of Mount Kilimanjaro.
To ensure we have adequate adult supervision for each class, the classes will be completing their challenge on different days. The children will be transported to the start of their route by minibus to avoid having to walk up Taylors Lane, and will be brought back to school once they have completed their lap (or laps).
In class, the children are decorating flags to wave and carry as they go and the TSA have also provided large flags of their African class countries that each class will carry with them.
On your child’s walk day (shown in the calendar section of the website), they can wear t-shirts in the colours of their class flag or they may choose to decorate a plain t-shirt. They should also make sure they have trainers or walking shoes in school on that day to wear. The TSA have also provided face paints in each flag’s colours for children to have applied if they wish. If your child is not allowed to have face paints applied in school, please email the school office before the day of their walk. -
New Behaviour Ambassadors
Mon 07 Feb 2022As a school we are incredibly lucky to have so many children who know how to behave well, and who are kind and thoughtful to others. We are always very proud to show visitors around our school and are often complemented by external visitors or, when we are off site, by members of the public on how well-behaved the children from Trottiscliffe are.
We have therefore had some Behaviour Ambassador badges made as we wanted to celebrate the children who maintain these high standards of behaviour every single day in their attitude to school and work; their behaviour in the classroom and on the playground; as well as how they treat others both adults and children, showing politeness, kindness and thoughtfulness even when they do not realise it is being noticed. Today these badges were awarded to the first group of children who have been nominated.
We would like to congratulate the following children who received badges today:
- Elanur H
- Charlie S
- Harley A
- Seanna S
- Tia D
- Layla L-F
- Toby L
- Sophia P
- Evan S
- Alfie W
We shall be looking forward to awarding more of these badges later in the year.

Harvest Thanks
Thu 07 Oct 2021Harvest Festival
It was fantastic to be able to celebrate Harvest Festival in school with all the children in assembly together. Thank you to everyone who has donated food items this week. Our donations have now been delivered to our local food bank, the Pilsdon Project, which we support each year.

Prospective Parents
Wed 01 Sep 2021Do you have a child due to start school in September 2022?
Choosing a school for your child can be quite a daunting process and we totally understand that often prospective parents have lots of questions about the school and the process they need to follow. We understand that this process has not been helped by the new challenges posed by Covid-19. Please be assured we are on hand to answer any questions you may have.
This year, we will be offering school tours with the Headteacher during November and December so that you can see the school in action. Please contact the office to arrange an appointment.
On our Admissions page, you will find lots of helpful information for this process. You will also find a video walkthrough of a day in our school.
We hope you choose Trottiscliffe as the school for your child and look forward to meeting you in September.
